在教會內推行黑客松，有問題嗎？

經過上三篇文章的討論，我們有關「黑」的信仰思考，可以找到以下三個重點：

  1. 進入問題之中
  2. 深入了解
  3. 作出轉化

那麼拿著這三點，在教會內推行黑客松，或更廣泛而言的更多採用科技，有什麼困難？讓我先引用Mark Noll的話。Mark Noll是維珍神學院(Regent College)的歷史研究教授，在他的代表作The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind(丟人現眼的福音派腦袋)中，毫不客氣地批評福音派：

To put it most simply, the evangelical ethos is activistic, populist, pragmatic, and utilitarian. It allows little space for broader or deeper intellectual effort because it is dominated by the urgencies of the moment. (p.12)

以上的一段英文，我試譯為：「以最簡單的方法來表達，福音派的精神就是著重活動、以群眾的意見為依歸、著重實用和功利。福音派因為當下各種迫切的事情，並不鼓勵更廣泛或更深入的思考。」

以推動一間堂會更多採用科技為例，如果會眾比較年長或保守，多以羅十二17「眾人以為美的事，要留心去做。」為原則，推動新科技就會變得很慢，甚至簡單界定互聯網上有很色情內容，所以是邪惡。又有另一間堂會重視搶救靈魂，於是在短時間內，功利地找出幾個最潮的技術用語，以標題黨的方式，放在佈道的講道中。如果有朋友被這些技術標題吸引來參加，因為有關技術的內容不多又太過簡單，就可能失望而回。

香港人一般對宗教都有一份尊重，如果教會領袖可以在科技問題上有洞見，不難找到聽眾。不過要獲得洞見，我們需要時間去浸淫去考思。而很多時堂會活動不少，牧者的工作十分繁重，而福音派又推崇各種迫切性的教義，如末日主再來等，令洞見無法生出來。上文也提到先要有洞見，跟著才知道如何作出轉化性的行動。我們先要小心，記著維珍神學院Mark Noll教授的提醒。

出路

那麼如何才能在信仰和科技上，都有深入的了解？要研讀很多科技書藉嗎？叫傳道去讀個電腦博士學位，還是叫一個有博士學位的信徒去讀神學？有沒有這樣的人，已經著書立說，我們立刻可以使用？

知識來自書本或學院，其實是個現代的想法。在知識管理 (Knowledge Management) 理論中，知識是來自實踐社群(Community of Practice)的。實踐社群是人類生產和保存知識的一個最古老而又最平常的方法。我們可以看看耶利米書35章所描述的利甲族人。當各個民族在迦南地爭奪土地時，利甲族人卻以百年計，以住帳棚的方式到處寄居。畢德生在《與馬同跑》一書中解釋，利甲族人其實是一班有很高技術水平的鐵匠，為免煉鐵的技術被其他族群偷取，他們會在各城外札營，向各族提供打鐵服務為生。他們甚至連婚姻也是小心在族內安排，以策萬全。以實踐社群的角度來看，利甲族人把煉鐵的技術一代傳一代，煉鐵的技術就在社群中被保存和發展。當利甲族人跟其他社群有太過緊密的聯繫，煉鐵的秘技就會被傳遞出族群之外。

我們又可以思考舊約和新約。神把以色列人組織成一個社群，在長年累月的歷史中，以色列人不斷累積對神的認識，之後就寫下了舊約。新舊各書卷多在主後一百年內成書，不過對聖經的詮譯和對信仰的實踐，也是由信仰群體所承傳。

在教會內更多採用科技，就是不要怕麻煩，也不要怕失敗，由小至大去實踐使用科技。把傳道、有技術的信徒和有關的持份者，組織成一個實踐社群。實踐時要常常反省，多聽各持份者的意見，看看做出各種科技選擇時，有沒有緊貼信仰的原則。

舉一個例子，近來因為疫情的緣故，堂會都被逼要搞網上崇拜、網上小組等。於是選購科技器材中有很多決定，實行上也要做很多的決定。那麼我們是選用最新最快、功能最多、質素最高的產品，還是先看看誰是科技上的弱勢社群，考慮我們如何照顧和支援他們？兩種取向未必是對立的，只是哪些考慮在教會中應為優先。

組成實踐社群的其中一個目的，就是要累積和整理經驗，並向更多人分享。用上面網上崇拜的例子，疫情過去，如果沒有把記錄網上崇拜做法和原因，過了幾年轉了事奉的人手，知識就會隨之而流失。反過來如果我們小心去累積和整理經驗，假以時日，我們就可以得到知識和洞見。

總結

本文先討論黑客松Hackathon當中「黑」hack的意涵，不是指入侵或破壞電腦的罪犯的黑客。「黑」有兩個特性－追求技術的卓越和轉化事物的用途。而黑客松就是取這方面的意思。

跟著參考聖經和教內情況，歸納出三點：

  1. 進入問題之中
  2. 深入了解
  3. 作出轉化

那麼在教會內推行黑客松，或更廣泛而言的更多採用科技，可以甚麼做？

  1. 建立實踐社群，邀請傳道、有技術的信徒和持份者參加。
  2. 實踐使用科技，不要怕麻煩，也不要怕失敗，因為無論是在使徒行傳或教會歷史當中，教會都是透過參與並由錯誤中學習而成長，並在實踐中反省。
  3. 累積和整理經驗，向更多人分享。
